FD: Toddler pulled from Chandler pool in critical condition

CHANDLER, AZ - Authorities say a toddler is in critical condition after she was pulled from a back yard pool in Chandler.

The near-drowning incident happened late Sunday morning near Alma School and Elliot roads

Chandler police say there is a fence around the pool and so far it is unknown how the 2-year-old got inside.

She was taken to an east Valley hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

Keith Welch with the Chandler Fire Department said the child's parents were not home at the time. There was a caregiver there who pulled the girl from the pool.

Welch said the child's parents arrived home quickly.

No other information was available as of Sunday night.
